Important Notice

The Maine Legislature has banned the bringing of firewood into Maine. ( Sec. 1. 12 MRSA § 8307)
Also the practice of transporting firewood for a distance of more than 50 miles from home, even within the state is discouraged.
This is due to the threat of invasive insects that are transported in the firewood.
Out of respect for the landowner and the north woods, we no longer allow firewood to be brought into camp in order to protect the forest from invasive insects.
We do have firewood for sale at the office. For more information please click on the link.

Hunting at Frost Pond Camps....
First Bird jpg

Some of the finest Grouse hunting in the state is located around here.  In years with high populations it is not uncommon for people to see 20 partridge (grouse) a day.  My personal high for a day was 42 or 43 birds.  It  was a fantastic day in the woods.

Moose hunting is by permit only and getting drawn in the lottery is the first step.  If you are interested in a moose hunt visit the DIF&W site to submit an application for the lottery.  We are located in WMD 4, and WMD 9 is located a very short distance from camp.  WMD 5 and 10 are a bit further away, but still an option.

Bear hunting is most productive over bait.  I do not offer bear hunts over bait, so any bear hunting you do would be over natural baits.  (Berries, beach nuts and such)  It is not impossible to harvest a bear without hunting a baited site, but it is more difficult.  Many people take the challenge of still hunting and make a memory of a lifetime.

Deer hunting in the entire northern part of Maine has suffered over the past few years.  There are several factors that have contributed to this and it very well may be years before the numbers of deer return to where they were in the "good old days".

That said, it is still very possible to get a nice buck out of these woods.  It will test all of your skills, and is not for everyone but very satisfying for those with perserverence and good hunting skills.

There are only a couple of cabins open during November.  The bunkhouse cabins are open as well.

Cabin rates after October 15 do have an additional 15% charge due to the increased operation costs.
