Important Notice

The Maine Legislature has banned the bringing of firewood into Maine.
(Sec. 1. 12 MRSA § 8307)
Also the practice of transporting firewood for a distance of more than 50 miles from home, even within the state is discouraged.
This is due to the threat of invasive insects that are transported in the firewood.
Out of respect for the landowner and the north woods, we no longer allow firewood to be brought into camp in order to protect the forest from invasive insects.
We do have firewood for sale at the office. For more information please click on the link.

Vacations at Frost Pond Camps....
Loons jpg

Are you looking for a place where you can really relax on your vacation?  How about a place where you can do a number of outdoor activities from climbing a rugged mountain, go whitewater rafting, do some serious birding, get in some fantastic fishing, go out to see a moose or any number of other fun things that are available in this part of the State of Maine?

As a family orientated facility we even have families that each do their own thing and everyone is happy.  Kayaking, canoeing, fishing, hiking and just sitting on the shore of the pond are often shared by all.

Many evenings you will find us gathered around a campfire telling stories about camp life and all the great things that happen up here in the woods.

Just a few of the things you may wish to try....
  • Canoeing/kayaking

  • Bird watching

  • Hiking in Baxter State Park & Mt Katahdin, Maine's highest peak

  • Fishing for coldwater species, Salmon, Trout, Togue

  • Exploring around Ripogenus Dam and the Gorge

  • Reading a good book while resting on the shore of the pond

  • Picking blueberries or raspberries  (In season)

  • Scenic float plane trips

  • White water adventure on the Penobscot

  • Learn about the outdoors with Maine Nature School

  • Go hiking on the Appalachian Trail

  • Visit the Lumberman's museum (Day trip)

  • Relaxing around the campfire

  • Find a moose to photograph

  • Listening to the loons

All of this and more, all available at Frost Pond Camps.  A great place to come visit to re-charge your internal batteries and relax.

Each and every year we have guests return to enjoy their vacations at Frost Pond.  So many times when they leave they stop in to tell me "We are already planning out next years visit."
