The Maine Legislature has banned the
bringing of firewood into Maine.
(Sec. 1. 12 MRSA § 8307)
Also the practice of transporting firewood for a distance of
more than 50 miles from home, even within the state is discouraged.
This is due to the threat of invasive insects that are transported
in the firewood.
Out of respect for the landowner and the north woods, we
no longer allow firewood to be brought into camp in order to protect
the forest from invasive insects.
We do have firewood for sale at the office. For more information
please click on the link.

Your own private bunkhouse! When your
rent a bunkhouse, it is for your party only. We do not put
multiple parties in the bunkhouses, it will be only your group!
The Bunkhouses provide the
opportunity for people to be inside where it is warm and dry if
the weather is a bit less than perfect.
When you book a bunkhouse you will bring all of your own gear.
You will need a cooler and ice, stove to cook on, sleeping bags
or other bedding, pillows, lights, dishes, utensils and pots and pans to
cook and eat your meals with. There is a dry sink in each
of these cabins as well.
The bunkhouse cabins have a wood stove for heat if it is damp or
cool, you still have your own private outhouse and of course
the showers up at the office area are still available for you.
Cabin 1 has 2 double beds, a set of bunk beds and a single bed.
The cabin can be booked for up to 6 people for one low price.
If you have more than 6 people there is an additional charge for
each additional person.
Cabin 4 is set up for the same deal, except it is priced for 2
people and each additional person will pay the additional charge.
This cabin has one double bed, but people sometimes use an air
mattress or camping pad to add one or two more people.
Canoes, kayaks and boats and motors are available for rent with
the bunkhouse cabins as well. They do not come with the
free use of a canoe that the housekeeping cabins come with.
As with the other cabins, there are not any fire pits for outside
fires. This is for safety reasons. Feel free to
bring your grill and charcoal if you wish to do some outside
cooking.
Sunsets at Frost Pond are something that you
will never forget. Not every night is the water glassy
smooth with pretty colors in the sky, but the average for
seeing a fantastic sunset is way up there!
Be sure to bring your camera when you come, because if you do
not, that will be the night for one of the many great sunsets!
